Define the problem – Porn Dependence

Problem: Porn is hurting your relationships and maybe your sex drive

Step 1Understand the problem

30% of all traffic online is porn. That’s a lot of people watching but chances are you’re Porn-Dependence.jpghere because you’re watching it way too often. So, why is that a problem?  When you are looking at sexual imagery, dopamine floods pleasure centers in the brain. If you are constantly flooding the brain, you’re brain starts to need bigger hits to feel a response.  We then end up looking at weirder and weirder stuff to to get that rush. Now try comparing that to a real relationship – what do you think is going to happen?

The real world stops being able to compete. You then start to struggle with intimacy and you may have problems getting aroused without a porn starter.  If you start lying about it to your partner or you find that you are only getting turned on by porn stars, then you probably have a problem.  What’s so insidious about sexual issues is the mental aspect. If you can’t perform just one time, it gets in your head and starts to spiral.  If you’re already at that stage, our recommendation is to seek a therapist. Before doing that though it may be worth find out how bad it is.

Step 2 Be mindful of how bad it is

Over the next three days we will discover just how bad it is. First we will track the number of times that porn pulls you out of your every day life.  Second we will track how many times you choose to watch porn over real sex or some other social activity.
